It’s not often a major company asks its VP of Business & Legal Affairs to spearhead the design and construction of a new headquarters building. But that’s exactly what happened when the CEO of Integrity Media approached Don Mayes to take the reins of this massive project. However anyone who knows Don will tell you that he was the right man for this particular job. He had the perfect blend of skills to make it happen. Even though his professional background was primarily in music law, accounting and administration, he always had a penchant for design. From investing in real estate and remodeling homes to the unique ways he decorated his own office and home, there’s always been a creative side to Don.
Labor of Love
In 2001 Don began the coordination of Integrity’s new headquarters in Mobile. After two grueling years of planning and construction, the result was a beautiful three-story structure full of distinctive features, inside and out. The tricky—but fun—part for Don was blending his contemporary style with the classic southern architecture of the city and the nature that surrounded the building. It was a defining accomplishment in Don’s life because it put all his diverse abilities to the test—vision, attention to detail, creativity and commitment. He brought all the right elements together to create something truly extraordinary. The experience also inspired Don to open Stonebrook Associates, which is both an interior design and project management firm. It allowed him to tap into all of his business skills and test his mettle as an entrepreneur. At the same time, Don also desired to take his love of real estate to the next level. As a longtime investor, he wanted to help others make the most of their buying and selling opportunities in the Mobile area—with character and integrity every step of the way.
Home at Heart
Don and his family settled to Mobile in 1995 after moving around a lot because of his career in the music industry. They immediately felt “at home” in this community, which is why he takes such pride and finds such joy in making a positive impact through his career and church involvement. “Mobile has become my home and it’s important for me to contribute whenever I can,” Don says. As you would expect, Don uses every one of his unique skills to help you make the most of your investments. It all adds up to success. Whether you are buying or selling, you can count on him to provide you with the expert guidance and keen market insight you deserve. From detailed staging advice and creative marketing plans to best present your home to remodeling ideas that will help you realize a new home’s full potential, Don guides you towards making the right real estate decisions. Most importantly, it’s in his character to never lose sight of what matters most to you and your family, which is why he is so personally committed to achieving your goals.
